Mildred M. Huffman
July 17, 1948 - February 18, 2021

Mildred Marie Huffman, 72, of Carteret County, NC, died after a brief illness early Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at her home in Stella, NC surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Huffman was born on Saturday, July 17, 1948 in Wilson County, NC to the late Millard and Nancy (Bunn) Perry. In Raleigh, NC, on August 29, 1969, as the former Mildred Marie Perry, she married her loving husband of 51 years, Mr. James D. Huffman who survives. She was a faithful and devoted member of Temple Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC before moving to Stella, NC.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted children, Benjamin D. Huffman of New Bern, NC and Dawn H. McIlvain of Oxford, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tyler and Mason; two sisters Faye Crowder and her husband Charles of Cape Carteret, NC and two of her dearest friends, Ron Mizesko and Betty Hopkins both of Swansboro, NC. In addition to her parents she’s preceded in death by a sister Brenda Pennell and three brothers Bruce, Brooks and Willard Perry.

At the family’s request, services will be announced at a later date.

Marie will be forever missed by her loving and devoted husband, children, grandchildren and many dear friends.

    Marie was a very close Dear Friend. She will be missed by me , her family , especially her beloved husband. Who faithfully stood by her , cared for her and Loved her till the last breathe was taken and beyond.
    So grateful that she was in my life.
    She was a Brave Woman and Wonderful Woman.
    She will always be remembered in our hearts forever. Till we meet again on the other side.
