David R. Baysden
January 1, 1955 - September 3, 2019

David Royce Baysden, 64, of Jacksonville, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. David was born & raised in Jacksonville, where he was the first baby born in Onslow County on January 1, 1955 to parents, Dalton Ray & Sarah Whaley Baysden, which precede him in death.

He became a race car enthusiast at a young age, leading him to be an automotive machinist by trade. He worked for Lenoir Auto Parts for many years, several automotive dealerships & owned his own Snap-On Tool business before finding his true passion with self employment of Big Dave’s Machine Shop. He made many friends throughout his life passion and shared their joy at the race tracks. His smile & laugh will be missed.

David is survived by daughter, Janette Baysden Cox (husband Liam) of Greenville, NC; son, David Ray Baysden (wife Jennifer) of Jacksonville, NC; six grandchildren, Taylor, Audrey, Brittany, Matthew, Briana & Bradley; sister, Lisa Baysden Tisone, MSN RN (husband Chris) of Odessa, FL; his “little buddy” dog, Sammy.

A celebration of David’s life will be held Saturday, September 14,2019 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, 919 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC at 2:00 PM.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service. Interment will immediately follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Services were entrusted to Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care of Jacksonville, NC.
