December 13, 1949 – April 5, 2019

William Lee Brockman, 69, passed away Friday April 5, 2019 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC surrounded by his loving family.

Lee was born December 13, 1949 in Durham, NC and was raised in Gastonia, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents William Brockman and Annie Cosey of Gastonia, two sisters, Elizabeth Tarpley, Daphne Bennett, and a brother Bobby Brockman.

Lee was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. Lee also loved spending time with his family, painting, being active in his community and helping others. He was one of the most compassionate and charismatic men we have known, and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Lee is survived by his wife of thirty- four years, Barbara Garrick Brockman, three children, John Dillinger (Jennifer) of Clover, SC, Angela Brakefield (Brian) of Bowling Green, SC and Amanda Hayes (Travis) of Supply, NC, a sister, Margie Martin of Gastonia, NC, five grandchildren, Jonathan and Jennifer Brakefield of Bowling Green, SC, Destiny Dillinger of Supply, NC, Landon and Olivia Hayes also of Supply, NC, a niece Kathy Bennett of Gastonia, NC, two nephews, Scott Martin of Dallas, NC and David Martin of Gastonia, NC.

A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held in Lee’s honor at a later date , please contact the family for more details.
